Why Outlook is closing randomly ?

Microsoft outlook which is inbuilt with many advanced features and comes with many advanced features but it is also not untouched with many Microsoft outlook problems. Now days users who are using Outlook 2003 to 2010 application facing the same problem of closing application unexpectedly. A huge number of MS Outlook users complaining with the problem that the outlook closes unexpectedly or randomly.

Outlook is closing randomly

Step1: First run “scanpst.exe” on your computer. It is by default it is located on C drive. You can find it using this path “C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\”.

Step2: Now rename “outcmd.dat” to “outcmd.old” and restart your outlook now to reset all the toolbars. You can find this file on this path “C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook“.

Step3: You can try recreating the profile in Start ->control panel ->mail ->show profiles

Step4: Try running outlook with the /safe switch: Start ->run->type: outlook /safe

In some cases you may have to enter the full path to Outlook: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe” /safe

If Outlook works in fine in safe mode, the issue might be caused due to add-in. Disable the add-ins in Outlook and check if it helps. Follow the steps below to disable the Add-ins:

Step5: Now start in safe mode again and disable individual add-ons in Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced E-mail Options -> Add-In Manager/COM Add-ins.

If the issue reappears again, it will help you to determine which add-in is causing this issue.

Now re-start your system and check that issue has been resolved.
